Medexpress Case Study

Medexpress Case Study

The Challenge

MedExpress is an online UK based registered pharmaceutical business.  Customers of MedExpress carry out a three step process where they select the medication that they require, followed by completion of an online questionnaire which is reviewed by one of their UK registered GP's. The GP decides if the medication is appropriate for the customer, and issues a private prescription to accompany the medication.  The medication is picked and dispatched within 24hrs of an order being placed.

In 2014, MedExpress contacted us, looking for packaging for their medication, that would allow the order to remain confidential for customers.  They needed packaging that would provide a quality experience for customers and at the same time provide a cost-effective secure and discrete delivery solution.

The Problems

MedExpress weren't using a hot melt adhesive packaging system, therefore customer discretion may have been compromised if the package should break open during transit.  They were also unable to store any packaging due to having no warehouse space, which could cause potential problems in providing their 24 hour delivery service to customers.

The Solution

  • Lil packaging were able to provide a good quality range of self sealing boxes and bookwraps. Our hot melt adhesive gives the best, tight seal providing security with no reference to the contents inside.  This maintains the confidentiality and reassurance required for the 'patient'.
  • Over 98% of our orders are dispatched within 24 hours. With this in mind, coupled with packaging that is quick to assemble and pack, means that MedExpress can continue to provide their own speedy 24hour delivery service to their customer with minimal downtime.
  • As the selected packaging was among our extensive range of stock products, such as our S1 mailbox, CD bookwrap and C-DVD bookwrap we were able to provide small regular deliveries to avoid the issues related to MedExpress having no warehouse space.
  • In order for us to fully appreciate the packaging needs of MedExpress, our Sales Office Manager at Lil Packaging also visited the site. MedExpress now have their own dedicated Account Manager at Lil Packaging that continues to be a consistent point of contact for packaging orders and any changing requirements.  MedExpress therefore have the confidence to place as many orders as they need every week to meet the demands of their customers.

The Outcome

MedExpress are able to continue to provide a 24 hour delivery service to their customers with the confidence that Lil Packaging will always be on hand to meet their demand for regular packaging deliveries. Packaging storage space is therefore no longer a problem and MedExpress continue to receive good quality, value for money packaging products.
